The HoD of First Year B. Tech. Department Dr. Yashpal Marutirao Khedkar is a Mechanical Engineer and has been serving as a Professor at SVERI’s College of Engineering, Pandharpur, from last 15 years. He has completed his school and college education in Solapur, earning a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.E. in Design, and later Ph.D. in Vibration from Jain University in Bangalore. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers, Kolkata, India, and serves as the Director of its Solapur Local Centre. He is also a lifetime member of the Indian Society for Technical Education. Currently, he also holds the position of Communication Head at SVERI’s College of Engineering, Pandharpur. Additionally, he manages the responsibility of Coordinator for the Student Development Department at Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University. Under his guidance, the university has successfully organized 11 Youth Festivals. For the past 14 years, he has been the editor of the college magazine ‘Explorer’.

He has represented Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University at the national level in youth festival competitions. His involvement in social work has been significant since his student days, and he has received several prestigious awards and honours for his contributions to cultural, social, and educational initiatives. He has delivered lectures on various topics across Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra. In the field of engineering, he has authored two books and presented several international research papers. His research has been recognized at conferences in China and NIT. He has consistently contributed with articles to various newspapers and has served as a judge for oratory, poetry recitation, and debate competitions. He has played a key role in organizing literature and drama conferences and has actively participated in them. During the Ashadhi and Kartiki Wari, he has frequently assisted the administration with management. As the part of the Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat initiative, he has served as the Coordinator for Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University. Along with his students, he has spearheaded initiatives like Nirmal Wari and Nisarg Wari during the Wari pilgrimage for the benefit of devotees. Currently, he is recognized as a young scholar in the field of higher and technical education.
