The Department of First-Year Engineering at SVERI’s College of Engineering, Pandharpur (Autonomous) provides a strong academic foundation in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology for Engineers, and Material Science, along with introductory courses across major engineering disciplines. In line with the NEP framework, the curriculum also includes courses such as the Indian Knowledge System, English
Proficiency Tools, Physical Education, and a variety of co-curricular activities which foster the holistic development of students. The department strives to create a collaborative learning environment where theoretical concepts are applied to practical engineering challenges. Before the commencement of academic sessions, newly admitted B.Tech. students undergo a Students’ Induction Programme. This programme familiarizes them with the institute’s policies, practices, culture, and values, while also forming mentor groups for personalized guidance. Students are introduced to various activities at college, including NSS, professional bodies, students’ clubs, and sports. The dedicated faculty members provide
continuous mentorship, counselling, and academic support throughout the course of study. The department also ensures strict monitoring of attendance and internal assessments to maintain academic standards and prepare students for their journey in engineering.
