 Mechanical Engineering Department
Established in 1998, the department has always remained on the forefront in producing quality engineers/technocrats. The department offers B.E. (Mechanical Engg.), M.E. Mechanical (Design Engg. & CAD/CAM Engg.) & PhD in Mechanical Engg. programmes. The department has sound infrastructure and good research culture. Over the years, the department has developed strong linkages with industries and R&D organizations. .

 PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES(PEOs)

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has as its PEOs to produce graduates who:

  1. Apply technical expertise to interpret, analyze and solve complex and emerging technical problems in the field of Design Engineering, Heat Power, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing and related Management
  2. Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills and ability to function effectively as an individual as well as part of a team
  3. Demonstrate a sense of moral and ethical standards in their professional career
  4. Engage in lifelong learning
 PROGRAMM OUTCOMES(POs)

Students graduating from Mechanical Engineering will demonstrate:

  1. an ability to apply knowledge of Mathematics, Science and Engineering
  2. an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data, in different areas of Design Engineering, Heat Power, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing and related Management
  3. an ability to design a system, component or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability
  4. an ability to function on multidisciplinary teams
  5. an ability to identify, formulate and solve Mechanical Engineering problems
  6. an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
